Travel with a small group of like minded people north of Sydney to one of the most stunning wilderness resorts this country has to offer - Eaglereach. Sleep with Kangaroos!! Day One Sydney – Eaglereach Wilderness Resort (L) 7.30AM: We collect you at your Sydney accommodation and departing the city, we travel north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge via the Gore Hill Freeway to join the Pacific Highway and then the F3 Freeway. Crossing the Hawkesbury River we leave the Freeway to travel on sealed roads through the Yengo National Park. Here we travel through contrasting rural farmland and Australian Natural Bush, mountains ranges and grazing land. Enroute we view several sections of the original convict built Old Great Northern Road. This road, built in the 1820’s was considered to be one of the world’s great engineering feats of this time and is an exceptional example of English road building. We stop to enjoy a delightful morning tea before continuing through the historic Wollombi village, established in the early 19 th Century and a wonderful example of the small colonial rural townships of this era. From here our journey takes us over Mt View where we gain a panoramic perspective of the Hunter Valley wine areas. From here we travel to the first of our Boutique Wineries to sample premium Hunter Wines before adjourning to a renowned Vineyard Café to enjoy our lunch. After lunch we visit another respected boutique winery to sample more of the Hunter Valley’s famous wines and you have the opportunity to purchase wines that are not available anywhere else. 2.00PM: You will be transferred from the Hunter Valley by luxury vehicle to Eaglereach Wilderness Resort, where on arrival you will be issued with your safari buggy (Private Lodge Package Only) which will be your transport around the resort during your stay. Nothing will prepare you for the breathtaking views and standard of accommodation here. Time to relax and settle in. This evening, you dine in the resort restaurant (own expense). Overnight: Eaglereach Wilderness Resort – luxury spa lodge OR Jindalee Resort Room. Day Two Eaglereach Wilderness Resort (B/D) Eaglereach is a nature based private wilderness resort that has 1000 acres of natural wilderness which is home to a variety of flora and fauna. As this mountain top was largely undisturbed until recently, it has remained a haven for hundreds of Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Red Necked Wallabies, Wallaroos, Echidna’s and many other Australian Native Animals. Birdlife here is extraordinary and we commonly see King Parrots, Eastern and Crimson Rosellas, Wedge Tailed Eagles and many dozens of other Australian Birds. Activities offered at the resort include walking, horse riding trail rides, mountain biking, tennis, swimming in the salt-water rock pool, yabbying, fishing in the freshwater lake, and barbecues. Eaglereach has its own restaurant 'Treehops' which has large verandahs and a wine tasting area. Awake to the splendour of the valley views and enjoy coffee in your room or out on the balcony. Breakfast follows this then the day is yours to enjoy activities of your choice as listed above. This evening enjoy a 2 course (your choice of entrée/main or main/dessert) in the restaurant (beverages own expense). Overnight: Eaglereach Wilderness Resort – luxury spa lodge OR Jindalee Resort Room. Day Three Eaglereach Wilderness Resort – Port Stephens – Sydney (B/L) After breakfast this morning, you are collected from Eaglereach at 8.15am and cross the Hunter Valley through the historic townships of Paterson and Raymond Terrace. We drive alongside the beautiful waterway of Port Stephens for some 15 kilometres as we approach the port town of Nelson Bay where the cruise boats depart. Here we board the vessel for a 2 hour cruise. Pods of Bottle Nose Dolphins inhabit the bay and we commonly see between 6 and 30 of the gentle creatures, sometimes marvelling as they ride the bow waves. At the completion of the cruise enjoy a BBQ buffet style on board at the Marina before being collected and transferred to the Hunter Valley to connect with your return transfer to Sydney, travelling via the freeway to arrive back at your hotel @ approximately 5.30 – 6.00pm.
