Day 1 - Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & UluruOur adventure begins travelling to the Outback Camel Farm where passengers will get to ride a camel (at own expense), before continuing on to Uluru (Ayers Rock) viewing the unique scenery along the way. After lunch, we set out to explore the wonder of Kata Tjuta (Olgas) and hike the Valley of the Winds. We return to watch the desert sun set over Uluru (Ayers Rock). After dinner at our permanent campsite, view the brilliance of the outback sky then curl up for the night in our tents or if you prefer, under the millions of stars in an authentic Aussie bedroll (swag). (LD) Day 2 - Uluru to Kings CanyonAn early start is required for one of the highlights of the tour - the Uluru sunrise. Enjoy a walk around the base exploring the mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal art sites while watching the changing light on the desert or you can choose to climb the rock. A visit to the Cultural Centre offers the chance to view and purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts. After lunch, we depart for Kings Canyon for our overnight camp and a great camp oven dinner. (BLD) Day 3 - Kings Canyon to Alice SpringsClimb and explore Kings Canyon, viewing the impressive formations of the 'Amphitheatre', 'The Lost City', the picturesque 'Garden of Eden' and the breathtaking North and South Walls. After lunch we depart for Alice Springs, enjoying the rugged desert scenery along the way. Overnight dorm accommodation included. (BL) Day 4 - Alice Springs to Banka BankaToday we cross the Tropic of Capricorn, see the amazing Devils Marbles, visit an Aboriginal art gallery, stop for a swim (summer only) at picturesque Mary Ann Dam then pass through Tennant Creek as we head to historic Banka Banka Cattle Station for dinner and overnight camp. (LD) Day 5 - Banka Banka to Katherine GorgeCall in at the most famous outback pub at Daly Waters, have a swim in Mataranka Thermal Springs, then head to the magnificent Katherine Gorge for overnight camp. (BLD) Day 6 - Katherine Gorge to DarwinSpend half a day at the spectacular Katherine Gorge (canoe, cruise or helicopter ride at own expense) before heading to Darwin via Edith Falls and Adelaide River. Overnight dorm accommodation included. (BL) Day 7 - Darwin to Mary RiverSee the falls of Litchfield National Park then head to the Mary River Wetlands for an afternoon wildlife cruise. Enjoy dinner, an Aboriginal Corroborree and overnight camp at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge. (LD) Day 8 - Mary River to KakaduWe call in at Mamukala Wetlands then 4WD into the awesome Jim Jim Falls before heading to Twin Falls where we join a National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience through the gorge to the waterfall. We drive on to Kakadu for dinner and overnight camp. (BLD) Day 9 - Kakadu to DarwinOur first stop is Ubirr to discover ancient Aboriginal rock art then head to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we do some hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip in the plunge pools before returning to Darwin.
