Day 1
First stop over is at an Award Winning Winery where you will enjoy a conducted tour and wine tasting. On to Girraween National Park for a picnic lunch and a walk to see the Lord of the Balancing Rocks ~ a great place for photographing wallabies and kangaroos in the wild.
Next stop-over is a working farm where you will spend a couple of hours watching the sheep-shearing, enjoy a farm drive and finish off with a country-style afternoon tea.
Overnight in a Tenterfield motel. Accommodation is air-conditioned motel accommodation with ensuite in the historic town of Tenterfield,
Day 2
We get off to an early start with a visit to the historic town of Tenterfield made famous by Peter Allen the Australian Entertainer. We visit a famous Bushranger's hideout before arriving at Bald Rock ~ Australia's largest granite boulder.After a stop at Boonoo Boonoo Falls for lunch, we travel on through eucalyptus forest and rainforest to our overnight accommodation at Toonumbar Waters Retreat. We'll arrive at approximately 4:30pm, just in time to see all the local wallabies and kangaroos emerging for their evening grazing. For tonights accommodation you can relax in an air-conditioned bush retreat near the rainforest. Rooms with ensuite.
Day 3
It's rainforest day and we'll spend plenty of time in the 75 000 acre (30 351 hectares), world heritage listed Border Ranges National Park.
Today we'll see the most spectacular rainforest in Australia ~ some say the world. We'll walk in both sub-tropical and temperate rainforest at Brindle Creek and Bar Mountain. We'll marvel at amazing views from the Pinnacle Lookout across the second largest extinct shield volcano caldera in the world; and see trees over 3000 years old in an area formed 23 million years ago!
