Take this unique kayaking, walking and camping tour in the Freycinet National Park. Let yourself unwind as you paddle through the clear waters, and walk along pristine beaches. Savour the delights of the local cheeses and wines that are included on this trip

Day one: Slow to the rhythm of the sea

If meeting in Hobart, your escape begins with a 2 hour drive alongside some of Tasmania’s most spectacular coastline to Coles Bay, located on the Freycinet Peninsula, gateway to Tasmania’s oldest coastal National Park.

Meeting at Freycinet Adventures office, you will be greeted by your guides before embarking on a scenic cruise that will deliver you to our secluded coastal camp in the heart of Freycinet.

Settle in to your accommodation and take some time to admire the location, offering views of Great Oyster Bay. Take a dip or walk along the camps private beach.

Once camp is established we explore the area on foot, with a walk to the world famous Wineglass Bay, voted one of the top ten beaches in the world.

Return to Hazards camp and indulge in pre dinner antipasto and Tasmanian wines, followed by a sunset meal prepared al fresco by your guides. Retire to your camp accommodation for a comfortable, peaceful night’s sleep. No traffic noise, just the sounds of the waves.

Option: If weather conditions prevent us from cruising to camp, we shall hike into camp via Wineglass Bay.

Day two: Awaken your senses

From our beach camp the day is spent leisurely exploring the shoreline in our sea kayaks as we head for Cooks Beach. From here a gentle walk takes us through the open forest to Bryan’s Beach on the southern tip of the Peninsula for fantastic views of rugged Schouten Island. Unearth the secrets of Freycinet - tales of shipwrecked whalers, early settlers and intrepid French explorers. Delve into the history and culture of the Oyster Bay tribe.

Returning to camp, you can try your luck at fishing or snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. We complete the day with another great meal, accompanied by the sunset over Great Oyster Bay.

Option: If weather conditions prevent us from paddling to Cooks Beach, we will explore the area on foot

Day three: Taste freedom

We break camp early, taking advantage of the tranquillity of the morning seas. Today we have the opportunity to explore Refuge Island and Promise Rock, both protected sea bird colonies, and many culturally significant sites as we follow the coastline back into Coles Bay. After a relaxing lunch your adventure concludes when you return to Hobart (arriving approx. 5:00pm).

Reflect on the journey you have experienced. The ‘Spirit of Freycinet’ will remain with you.

Option: If conditions prevent us from paddling today, we enjoy a leisurely morning before hiking the coastal track around the base of the Hazards Range back to Coles Bay.
