What coule be better than cruising the rugged and beautiful coast line of Western Australia in search of the best fishing destinations in absolute comfort? Featured in the Scoop Traveller Magazine, MV Diversity II provides a memorable fishing safari off the coast of Western Australia, through the river systems, historical sites and gorges. The spacious and well appointed MV Diversity is your base for 4 - 10 days with choice of doubles or twins and a maximum of 12 passengers.
- King George River: on the South West coast of Joseph Bonaparte Gulf and has numerous anchorages off the sandy beaches on both the eastern and western sides of Koolama Bay. Entering King George river you will be struck with awe as you gaze up at the towering red cliffs and mangroves especially around the amazing King George falls..
- Koolan Island: Koolan Island is just one of about 800 or so islands that make up the Buccaneer Archipelago. It was first pearls that drew distant travellers here and then iron ore. The island used to be home to one of Western Australia's richest iron ore mines. At one stage the raw ore was said to be so pure that it was possible to weld rocks together.
- Talbot Bay: Tides in Talbot Bay are up to 11 metres and are among some of the biggest in the world, and certainly the largest in Australia. Surging up rivers and ripping
through inland passages, these tides create such phenomena as the horizontal waterfall in Talbot Bay. Here the tide rushes through the gaps in the cliff which are only a few metres wide forming the effect of a horizontal waterfall.
- Rowley Shoals: sit on the edge of one of the widest continental shelves in the world and are comprised of a chain of coral Atolls. Rowley Shoals are famed for their almost untouched coral gardens, giant clams and other shellfish. The outside walls of the shoals are alive with soft corals in every imaginable colour and at low tide the water becomes ponded within the reef walls with the water gushing over them.
- Bigge Island: located off the headlands that lie between York Sound and Montague Sound and features an Aboriginal art gallery depicting early European contact. It is the second largest island along the coast of the Kimberley after Augustus Island and is a rugged formation composed of ancient and highly weathered rocks.
- Kings Cascades: located on the mighty Prince Regent River in the Kimberley region and are picturesque waterfalls cascading over striking terraced rock formations.
The Kimberleys have some of the best sports fishing grounds in Australia, and possibly the world! No matter what your preferred piscine adversary is, you'll find an ample supply to do battle with in the waters off the North West Coast. With 4 different fishing safaris available, there is something suited to everyones needs.
